2017 INTERNSHIP IN veritas collegiate academy
Veritas Collegiate Academy (VCA), formerly Veritas Christian Academy, is a classical Christian school, whose philosophy of education is adapted from Dorothy Sayer’s The Lost Tools of Learning and Douglas Wilson’s The Case for Classical Christian Education. Veritas has a rigorous academic program that is based on the wisdom of Scripture and is founded in the Trivium, consisting of grammar, logic, and rhetoric stages. Veritas Collegiate Academy (VCA) was founded in 2006. During the internship period, I was very honored to be invited to the commencement. Maria Elgut gave a motivational speech for graduates and most of them are going to Top 20 universities.
The Veritas International Student Program attracts students from all around the world to study at Veritas. Leon Xie decided to invest in buying a new school in San Diego, California. It is the best choice for international students because of the local airport transportation. International students prefer to go to California because of the convenient transportation. As the economic development consultant, I participated in the meetings for location decision making and discussing financing channels for the future funds. Rena Gong gave three ideal cities for setting a new school, which are Encinitas, Carlsbad and Oceanside.
The San Diego campus covers an area of 1.5 acres, including the principal building, teaching building and the office building.As the economic development consultant, I am in charge of setting the location plan for the Veritas Collegiate Academy campus in San Diego. The ideal location is near the sea and 15 minutes from downtown and 20 minutes from the airport. Since the target market of Veritas Collegiate Academy is international high school students, the short commute distance from school to hosting family and other community facilities is crucial.
